The Fine Print
What you should understand
The United Camps, Conferences and Retreats (UCCR) is the organization that manages Lodestar with whom we have a contract to hold the Back to Lodestar (BTL) Lodestar 2020 event. The responsible party is the BTL Planning Team. The Team’s goal is to balance the needs of all campers, meet our contractual obligations, and work out any individual situations if such a need arises.

So how does all that contractual fine print affect you, the camper?
Can a camper get a refund if they change their mind?
Could a camper get a refund if life gets complicated (death, illness) and they have to cancel?

So how does all that contractual fine print affect you, the camper?
- The contract with UCCR requires a 50% deposit with the balance to be paid 2 weeks before our arrival.
Can a camper get a refund if they change their mind?
- UCCR has a "No Refunds" policy. We need a minimum number of reservations in order to obtain Exclusive Use and have an obligation to pay that amount, no matter how many people show up.
Could a camper get a refund if life gets complicated (death, illness) and they have to cancel?
- Best-case scenario, no one has to cancel!
- Second best-case scenario is the camper has paid; life got complicated and needs to transfer their reservation to another person. The Planning Team will change the name on the reservation but the money transfer will be between the two private parties.
- Third best-case scenario is that we receive an over-whelming number of reservations, and we need the extra space; therefore, a planning team member will work out the details with the camper for a refund or transfer of money to another camper.
How does the Camper Assistance Fund work?
- If you are a camper and need some assistance with funding your Back To Lodestar weekend, pending the amount of donations received, the BTL Planning Team will gladly provide funds up to $192.50 per camper. Please email us at financial@backtolodestar.com
